Getting a headstart in NB IoT

Designers looking to develop and prototype cellular connected IoT devices utilizing NB IoT network easily need look no further than the Avnet NB IoT Starter Kit. With this kit, you’ll find all the elements you require to collect sensor data, connect to the NB IoT network, and utilise various cloud services for the management, storage, and analytics of a connected IoT device.

The Starter Kit offers a two board solution. One is the microcontroller based carrier board and the other is the pluggable, cellular connectivity module. Acting as the main host processor, the Avnet IoT Control board features an ArduinoTM compatible R3 expansion slot. It also comes with an ATmega2560 microcontroller, based on an 8-bit AVR RISC-based MCU running at 16 MIPS, as well as a 256KB Flash memory, 8 KB RAM, USB Port, 4 UART, 5 SPI, and 1 I2C.

Built around the Quectel BC95/G NB IoT modem module, the NB IoT Shield supports primary and external antenna connections through various connectors, sensors and serial link options.
